美国搜索巨头谷歌公司最近公布了多个开放互联网应用的API(应用编程接口),其中包括机器翻译的开发接口.借助这一接口,将来网民即使不懂英文,也可以发表英文评论.
谷歌公司开放的机器翻译接口用于其它网站的Ajax开发.其它网站可以通过接口调用谷歌的机器翻译后台,从而提供新鲜的翻译应用.
谷歌主要提供了两个应用的接口.一个是实时机器翻译.在一个第三方网站中,网民可以敲入自己熟悉的语言文字,网页将会自动翻译成为英文,从而发表英文评论.当然,网民也可以选择具体所要翻译的语种.
另外一个接口是实时语言侦测.网站可以自动识别用户正在输入的语言类型,可以根据应用要求对用户作出提醒.
此前,谷歌主要是通过自身网页提供机器翻译服务,可以翻译一段文字,也可以输入网址对整个网页进行翻译.
